It's been an eventful couple of weeks I must say....
Last week included an eventful trip to Nashville...TNU's graduation was great, not too hot and not too long...PRAISE

This is the lovely Miss Nina Woods...now Nina is painfully shy so the only way I was able to convince her to let me take a pic was from this particular angle...

This is my best friend Brooke from high school who just got her MASTERS in education. She is 3 years younger than me and already has her masters...which made me wonder..."What am I doing with my life?" and then...oh yes...I remember...working with some of the most amazing and beautiful children ever known to man. Speaking of amazing children...

Jason Levi and I are officially best friends. We bonded as we opted to pay absolutely no attention to the gradation ceremony itself and chase ladybugs instead (it was Jason's idea). For more exciting pics of graduation check out Syndi's site...you are guaranteed a good laugh...honest promise. I got to see other friends at graduation which was fabulous. I also got to go to one of Steph's showers for Jonah, where Eliot provided endless amounts of entertainment, and I got to hold baby Lauren...and life was magical and good. All in all I give graduation 2006 a solid thumbs up.
That weekend my Dad and I got to take our annual trip down to Leiper's Fork in his little car, and the weather was amazing. We stopped at Pucket's and had cokes in glass bottles filled with peanuts...YUM. I am convinced that I have found a little piece of heaven everytime I take a trip with my Dad in his little car...

Sometimes I desperately miss living in the south. My Dad always says that he thinks Middle Tennessee is one of the prettiest parts of the country and I have to agree. Missouri (often pronounced 'Misery') doesn't even come close to this on it's best day.
My car was in the shop this week. Dora the Explorer, as Holli named her, has been sick. I almost thought she was done for but she hanging in there for me. $300 and a new starter later...Dora is still clunking around. Hopefully she'll last for awhile but we'll see. While we were trying to jump start her on Tuesday night out in the parking lot at the KCUYC, I mentioned that I might leave her here for the night and have her towed the next day. Monique, one of my 9th grade girls who lives in the building where the KCUYC is located said heck no, not a good idea. Diane, my co-worker who also lives in the building, mentioned that she parks her car here everynight and hasn't had any problems, to which Monique responds..."Miss Diane, you can only fit like 3 or 4 crackheads in your car, you can fit like 8 or 9 in Miss Lori's, for real." So apparently I drive a crackhead mobile and must be more careful where I park it each night
The highlight of my day today had to be this morning, as I was working out at 24 hour fitness. It wasn't very crowded which was nice, and as I was walking back to use one of the machines I hear someone say "Sweetie, how do you get out of this machine?". I look to my left and see this older, fairly heavy woman sitting in the machine that works your inner thighs. She is sitting there, with her legs completely spread eagle...looking very helpless. So I had to hold the leg rests closed while she tried, somewhat unsuccessfully at first, to get one leg over the machine. Finally she was free, and we both rejoiced.
That's it for the next month or so...
